Transcript Diesel Club Business FEATURED CHANNEL TRIP !*&&* One of the chief objectives of the Diesel Club is to promote a closer relationship between the school and industry and to give its members a better understanding of the aims and objectives of the industry. In order to accomplish this numerous field trips are arranged and important industries in the Houston area are visited. Members are encouraged to study new developments in the field and to promote and market new products. An outstanding event in the Diesel Club year was a trip down the Houston Ship Channel as guests of the Houston Chamber of Commerce. The trip was made aboard the diesel-powered yacht Sam Houston, and was both entertaining and instructive. On field trips and in attendance at conventions, Diesel Club members collected technical data and instructional manuals for club files. Often valuable testing equipment is given the Diesel Club for use in the laboratory of the Diesel Department.
