Transcript Housing Staff FACILITIES INCLUDE FOUR DORMITORIES Housing facilities are an important phase of college life, especially at the University of Houston, where many students are from places other than the Houston area. Our facilities consist of Law Hall, which is the women's dormitory; Bates Hall, Settegast Hall and Taub Hall, and Oberholtzer Hall, which contains the cafeteria and recreational rooms. DIRECTOR—Bruce E. Gurd, director of housing, supervises head residents and coordinates activities of the University's four dormitories and Oberholtzer Hall. Mr. Gurd is also in charge of guest and convention facilities. BRUCE E. GURD Athletics COUGAR TEAMS WIN HONORS Few universities in the country have been represented by athletic teams that have fared as well as those of the University of Houston in the past decade. In just 15 years in intercollegiate athletic competition, UH athletes have won twice as many NCAA team titles as all of the older Southwest Conference schools combined. As director of athletics, Harry H. Fouke not only directs intercollegiate activities, but also the school's physical education program and intramural sports. ATHLETICS STAFF includes Margaret Standard, secretary, Harry H. Fouke, director of athletics; and Ted Nance, athletic publicity director. 33
