Transcript | Health Fair Freebie medical advice draws penny-pinching students UH organizations deprived some Houston doctors of their outrageous examination fees as the 4th Annual Health Fair packed the Houston Room with students taking advantage of free medical services, previously unheard of around town. Sponsored by the pharmacy, optometry, speech pathology, psychology, health, physical education and dietetics departments and funded by the Students' Association and Program Council, the fair provided facilities for testing blood pressure, vision, hearing and speech. Besides watching films on poison prevention, drug abuse and venereal disease, UHers and their families also had their blood typed, received immunization shots and donated pints of greatly-needed blood. Above left UH students' vision defects are quickly detected by a screening at the two-day Health Fair. Left Students observe a demonstration heart massage on practice dummy named "Resusita- tion Annie." Above Pamphlets concerning dietetics and nutrition are distributed to passing students.
