Transcript Night owls sacrifice sleep for money-raising campaign Camp Cougar, two one-week sessions held on campus each summer. "Hit me!" echoed through the hall leading to Oberholtzer Ballroom. In only hours, the weekly home of Cin ema 70 had become a one-night replica of a Las Vegas casino. Students gathered around blackjack tables and roulette wheels to watch as their friends indulged in games of chance at the mid-semester Casino Night, sponsored by UH's Dorm Council. Days later, a 25-hour Dance-a-Thon kept UHers boogieing through the night for their sponsors' donations. With the aid of Dorm Council, Program Council, the Daily Cougar, and local radio and television announcers, the UC arbor was converted into a hustling big city disco. Students who watched from above the dance floor threw dime and quarter contributions to the weary dancers. Left Long distance dancers shuffle around the UC arbor as their sponsors pay for each hour. Below left The contributions are thrown over the railing to the dancers from fans watching from above. Above One of the last energetic couples tries to show the others how to get down.
