Transcript | Dormies like "roughing it in traditional residence halls 56 The Quad Situated in a "stately wooded section of campus," the Quad was home for close to 1,000 on-campus residents. Amid cracks about the rodent- infested rooms, the long flights up in the elevator-less buildings and the 20- year-old furniture, Quadsters comforted themselves with the idea that this was what college dorm life was supposed'to be like. Summer renovations updated the Quad cafeterias and added an every- night snack bar in the process. Sette- gast Hall was converted into the second coed Quad building and all-girl Bates extended weekday visitation to 10p.m. The Dorm Programming Committee didn't overlook the OB Ballroom in staging their notorious hooplas. Cinema 70 utilized the same for a makeshift movie theater, giving Quad residents the advantage of being first in line for the weekly thrillers. The Quad 57 |
