Transcript | we are the protestors No longer a hotbed of the vocal political unrest that characterized the campus in the early 70s, UH and its protestors were subdued to the point of becoming unrecognizable. Except for the occasional notorious demonstrations by Iranian students against the Shah, the UC traded its old protest booths for flower-vending pushcarts and non-political Arbor entertainment. But dissent emerged again in a more law- abiding form with the Students' Association elections in March. Seven student coalitions campaigned for the top offices and forced a run-off between the ESP and SCOPE parties. A week's delay in the run-off election then created an audible protest of its own.
