Transcript | JOSEPH P. SCHNITZEN COUNSELING AND TESTING DIRECTOR (LEFT) "The duties of the counseling and testing offices are many and varied. Any problem may be discussed with a counselor and everything discussed is kept confidential." There is always a human element involved when discussing problems; sometimes counselors run across problems which they can't answer so they call in some outside help." There comes a time however, when all people reach points of decision — a crisis and they really want to sit down and talk it over, get some help." Our office also does research on student development — helps UH to focus on the student as a developing force." But it just seems that there's never enough time to do everything." WILLIAM D. SCOn UNIVERSITY CENTER DIRECTOR (RIGHT) "I'm responsible for what goes on in the building and all activities assigned to it." "I don't make the policies. I don't want to make the policies." "Organized groups equally get the opportunity to use the UC." "I don't have as much contact with the students as I'd like." "We want to keep away from people who hawk." "Sure there's use of marijuana in the building. We don't try to police it." "Our primary concern is for the students. Their money built and runs the building." 255 |
