Transcript | Petroleum Engineering Field Trips Aid Their Education OFFICERS: Thomas Germani, secretary; Charles Roxburgh, treasurer; Joe F.- Dishron, vice-president; Bill Beakley, president. The University of Houston Society of Petroleum Engineers is the student branch of the American Institute of Mining and Metallurgical Engineers. In order to familiarize its members with engineering operations and innovations, the organization holds bi-monthly meetings and monthly field trips in connection with the petroleum industry. Members of the Society participate in annual conventions of SPE and AIME in Houston and their representatives also attend the International Petroleum Exposition.
