"The way we look at it is that Frontier Fiesta and Homecoming are the two staple events at the university, so those are what we target!' And they are committed to keeping UH athletics alive, he said. "(The athletics program) will not leave. We are dedicated (to keeping it)!' The Frontiersmen don't just deal with on-campus issues, however. In their duties as ambassadors, they represent the university around the city and the state and appear at events like the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. Members are chosen from among student leaders, Rickard said. "You really have to make yourself known on campus (to become a member)',' he said. So take heart. The Frontiersmen are keeping UH tradition alive, and you didn't even have to — well, never mind.
