Transcript | Residents' Week presents "Roof Top JamsT a mini- festival meant to stir up dorm residents. The last week in April was Residents' Week in the dorms, a week full of partying and programs for the residents in honor of their dedication to school. The week started off with free seminars for the residents to enjoy and learn about the different activities at the University of Houston. "Roof Top Jams" ended the week with a party on top of the Quads. Local musicians performed live for a gleeful group of onlookers, while ice cream was served. "Roof Top Jams" was in its second year of existence. Zandy Baker, assistant area coordinator, was in charge of putting the party together. "We had free ice cream donated from Amy's Ice Cream, T-shirts and hot dogs for the residents to enjoy while listening to the bands!' Baker said. Baker and her committee invited four bands to perform. The first band began playing at 7 p.m. and the last band finished their set around midnight. Party goers came and went all evening, conversing in groups and listening to the music. The festivities passed on without a hitch, and everyone seemed happy to break the monotony of daily dorm life.
