Transcript | Houston Collegiate Panhellenic Association members gather to finish the Spring semester at their final meeting. Photo by Jade Mighell For the chance to be part of academic leadership and service opportunities, many women at the University of Houston joined the Houston Collegiate Panhellenic Association. The HCPA served as the governing body for the six UH Panhellenic sororities: Alpha Chi Omega, Chi Omega, Delta Gamma, Delta Zeta, Phi Mu and Zeta Tau Alpha. The HCPA held weekly meetings in order to communicate with each other. Each sorority elected one voice to represent their group, called delegates. Overall, the HCPA particiated in many activities, all of which were for a good cause. In March, the HCPA helped sponsor an All Campus Self-defense workshop, teaching the women of UH how to protect themselves from attackers. The HCPA also participated in Greek Week during the second week of February, in order to help Kid Care, a meals on wheels program for the underpriviledged children in the Houston Independent School District. Overall, the HCPA helped donate over 2,000 cans for the cause.
