NURSE ASSISTANT PROGRAM In cooperation with the Texas Medical center authorities and hospitals, the University carries on a Nurse Assistant program in keeping with the policy of serving Houston and the Gulf Coast area. After the first month in the training program, the hospital will provide part-time employment for four hours a day. After the third month, students are placed in the hospitals and their training continues for the nine-month clinical period. During this period, the hospitals provide compensation. Minimum starting salary is $125 per month after the 12- month training.
