Transcript | Home Ec girls use frozen foods. Materials must be good. HOME ECONOMICS The home economics division offers instruction in general home economics, food and nutrition, institution administration, clothing, textiles, costume design, interior decoration, child development, family life, and home economics education. Home ec girls make many clothes and model them. They learn how to prepare a first-rank meal economically and cut failures to a minimum. The dinners which the Home ec girls prepare for visitors to the campus are famous. HOME ECONOMICS FACULTY Left to right: seated — Mrs. Gore, Mrs. Anthis (director), Mrs. Callicutt; stand-3 ing—Miss Praytor, Mrs. Akkerman, Miss Guenard. Poise is stressed in modeling. At right, geology students examine a fossil skull: below, students learn latest mineralogical techniques. GEOLOGY Both geology and petroleum engineering majors gain practical as well as theoretical knowledge through the instruction of the geology department. Courses are offered in physical geology, historical geology, mineralogy, paleontology, petrology, geophysics, biostratigraphy, micropaleontology, and a wealth of other study. A highpoint of geology is the field trip to west Texas for further study. |
