Transcript | Ezekiel Cullen Building Cornerstone Ceremonies Mr. H. R. Cullen, Gov. W. P. Hobby, Col. W. B. Bates and Dr. E. E. Ober- holtzer were key figures at the cornerstone ceremonies. Mr. and Mrs. Cullen and Dr. Oberhorher at the ceremonies. Gov. W. P. Hobby delivers the principal address of the day. The first part of March, 1949, found the cornerstone ceremonies for the University's Ezekiel Cullen Building taking place. The cornerstone was placed by Mr. H. R. Cullen, who, with Mrs. Cullen, gave the building to the University. The building is named in honor of Mr. Cullen's grandfather, who was a pioneer Texas legislator and judge. On the left is picture of the speaker's platform which is flanked by members of the Cullen Rifles from the University's R. O. T. C. unit. The drill team was named in honor of Mr. Cullen.
