SFA Beats Homecoming Cougars 21-13 HOUSTON, Nov. 6.—A determined Stephen F. Austin eleven from Nacogdoches kept the Cougars' Homecoming jinx alive by rallying to defeat the University 21-13. The Red and White team started fast and scored first when Jackie Gwin crashed over from the Lumberjack nine. Bill Cook's interception of a 'Jack pass and a toss from Alan Neveux to Ed Staggs set the score up. SFA knotted the score after driving to the Cougar 16 where Leo Anger fired a pass to Oliver McKay on the seven with the speedy McKay going the rest of the way. Another Lumberjack tally came when pass interference was called on the Cougars' one. Sherman Hughes plunged over to send SFA ahead. Roy Davidson's j Yards Passing conversion made the score 14-7. Passes Attempted The Cougars almost tied things Passes Completed up again when Neveux hit Carrol Passes Intercepted Selby in the end zone for a TD. ! Punts But the conversion was no good Punt Average and the 'Jacks still led 14-13. SFA Yarns Penalized added another tally late in the fourth quarter on a lateral from Davidson to H. W. Wilson who went the distance. Davidson's conversion placed the final score at 21-13.
