At UH's doubleheader against Southern, fans pledged donations for every strikeout and home run, starting at $1 and $10 respectively. Cougar softball memorabilia, including post-game jerseys and helmets, were auctioned off, with 50 percent of the game's ticket sales and 100 percent of the silent auction proceeds benefiting the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation. The Cougars rounded out the series with two victories, an 8-0 shut out in the first game and an 8-7 win in the second game, and raised $7,471 toward research grants for a cure for breast cancer. 116- Spring |
