Transcript | Legislature Senators Approve New Organizations One representative from each class and one representative from each college compose the student Senate, the upper house of the bicameral system of student government. Among the powers of the student Senate are the proration of the budget for student government and approval powers for new campus organizations. Serving as president of the Senate is Maury Corp, vice president of the student body. Senate Secretary is chosen by school-wide election, but other Senate officers are chosen from within the ranks of the Senate itself.
