Transcript ENGINEERING OFFICERS: Lee Jordan, Jim Culver, David Miller, Martin Hubbard (Faculty Sponsor) Society of Petroleum Engineers One objective of the Society of Petroleum is for members to become acquainted with industry and to achieve greater knowledge of the technical field of engineering. SPE is the student branch of the American Institute of Mining and Metallurgical Engineers. The aim of SPE is achieved through lectures, speakers, and field trips. Halliburton, Oil Field Service Company, hosted SPE mem bers during a two-day tour of its Duncan. Oklahoma plant during which technical lectures were presented. SPE sponsored films and speakers on off-shore drilling and other phases of petroleum engineering. As members of the University of Houston Society of Engineers, SPE members attend UHSE socials.
