American Society of Mechanical Engineers As one of their professional activities this year, the members of American Society of Mechanical Engineers toured the Houston Light and Power Company, and the nuclear-powered ship S.S. Savannah. The purpose of A.S.M.E. is to better associate and inform the mechanical engineering students with the field in which they will be working as professional engineers.
