Transcript | College of Education DEAN ARVIN N. DONNER The College of Education, which was one of the first departments at the University of Houston when it was a iunior college, is now accredited by the Texas Education Agency and the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education. In the college, undergraduates prepare to teach in elementary and secondary schools. Experienced teachers return for advanced preparation work on a masters' level and there are those who do graduate work who will assume public school administrative assignments and college and university teaching. Dr. Arvin N. Donner has been Dean of the College of Education since 1945 and holds three degrees from the University of Iowa. Dean Donner says of his position. wTt is very stimulating and gratifying to work with young students preparing to teach and to work with teachers in service and school administration." 91 |
