Transcript | GOLF Left to right: Lamar Doyle, Wally Bradley, Tommy Cruse. Golfers Take Second In Missouri Valley Conference Under the watchful eyes of Coach D. G. Williams the University of Houston's golf squad finished second to Oklahoma A&M in the Missouri Valley Conference after compiling seven wins and a tie against five losses in regular season competition. Opponents were Hardin-Simmons, Texas A&M, Houston CC Invitational, Baylor University, Texas University, North Texas State, Texas Christian, Lamar Tech, and Stephen F. Austin. At the Missouri Valley Golf Championship, individual scoring put Houston at sixth, ninth and eleventh places: Wally Bradley, Pete Hessemer, and Tommy Cruse, respectively. In the summer, the Houston golf team entered the National Intercollegiate Tournament at Fayetteville, Indiana, with North Texas State College as defending champion. The six-man delegation from Houston included Pete Hessemer, Wally Bradley, Tommy Cruse, Sid Frink, Tom Tyson, and Lamar Doyle.
