Meeting perhaps their strongest competition in history, the Houston quintet played strong and determined games all season, but the best they could do was take seven out of 21 games. Two of those wins were over Texas A&M, and two over their bitter rivals of Sam Houston State. Respected Detroit, Tulsa, and Wichita teams also fell to the battling Cougars. With some new and promising prospects up from B squad, a tradition of top- division clubs, added to a fine coaching staff, the Cougars are expected to come up slugging this next season. It's time out^and Coach Alden Pasche gives the boys a little strategy to worry the opposition. Pasche-coached teams have run up one of the most impressive victory records of the entire section over the past few years, despite a losing season in 1951-52. |
