Transcript | Sigma Phi Epsilon . . . Sigma Phi Epsilon was founded at the University of Richmond in 1901. It was one of the first fraternities to recognize the need of a traveling representative for the national fraternity, and in 1921 the office of field secretary was created. Sigma Nu . . . Sigma Nu originated from the Legion of Honor, a secret society organized in 1868 at Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, Virginia. The real and permanent growth of Sigma Nu began early in the second decade with the establishment of chapters at North Georgia College and at Washington and Lee. Tau Kappa Epsilon . . . Tau Kappa Epsilon was founded in 1899 at Illinois Wesleyan University. The Teke's flower is the red carnation; the jewel is the white pearl; the colors are cherry and gray. 153 |
