Transcript | OFFICIAL STUDENT PUBLICATION The COUGAR is the only student ollieial newspaper on ibe campus. With the appoint ment of N. K. Patterson as Public Relations Director ol the university and faculty advisor ol the paper, a new policy was established setting up arrangements to have a new slall ele< ted eai b semester. The editors and senior staff members will be scleclrd from I lie Journalism classes, as the paper is the laboratory of the department. The editors, Louise Pridgen for the lirsl semester, and Maryannc llanagan foi the second, have done very much hard work on organization and training staff members to briny out a good paper every week. The financial affairs of the COUGAR have been rn the capable hands ol Roger l.rvin whose never ceasing energies have made possible several larger editions on special occasions. A word of especial thanks and appreciation to John Scardino, the printer, and frequently unofficial editor-in-chief, for his liberal doses of good journalism applied genially to the staff during sessions making up on press night. Except for his friendly advice and assistance the path of the editors would have been considerably rockier than it was. The staff was unstinting in its efforts in behalf of publicity for the Frontier Fiesta, and published the usual "big issue" of the year during the week of the fete, distributing several thousand copies to the visiting high seniors and other guests. |
