And this constitutes another reason why every conscious worker should join the Communist Party. The Coming of Great Class Battles In the United States we are now entering a period of maturing of great battles between the working class and the bourgeoisie. The capitalist class is involved in the most serious contradictions, creating problems which they try to solve by increasing the exploitation of the workers, by speeding-up the machines, by squeezing the life-blood of the working class —and by preparations for wars to conquer new markets. The capitalists' speed-up drive (rationalization) which is making life unbearable for the workers, and which creates millions of unemployed, can only be defeated by sharpest struggles.
