Viviani answered that the Berlin Cabinet could quite easily make this enquiry of Austria, but that, meanw7hile, the Servian reply might well form the basis of discussion; he added that France sincerely desired peace, but that she wTas determined at the same time to act in complete harmony with her allies and friends, and that he, Baron von Schoen, might have convinced himself that this determination met with the warmest approval of the country. No. 56. Telegram from His Royal Highness Prince Alexander of Servia to His Majesty the Emperor of Russia.
