Ouvrier cordonnier, gérant de la Marseillaise et membre de l'Internationale, qu'il fut chargé de représenter au congrès de Bâle. Condamné, sous l'Empire, par la haute cour de Justice sous l'inculpation de complot contre la sûreté de l'Etat. (Réfugié en Amerique.)" Caption (English translation): "Member of the Commune. Cobbler, manager of La Marseillaise and a member of l’International, which he was responsible for representing in the Basel Convention. Sentenced under the Empire, by the High Court of Justice on charges of plotting against the security of the State. (Refugee in America.)" |
