I give myself," and it is in ihis frame thai the Coll 45's would like to honor the following for their giving of themselves through the Colt 45's assistance fund. First of all. the Colt 45's owe an abundance of thanks and praise for the years of support that Mr. TGRA Virgil Burke and Miss Shelby St. John have generously showered upon our clients. I.list year, [hey both made our clients their number one priority, and through their talents, years of hard work, and caring hearts, Virgil and Shelby joined in a mass community effort thai was iruly momentous, and thankfully is a continuous supporl for our clients. On behalf of those very clients, the Colt 4 5" s mosi humbly salute Virgil and Shelby and strongly support Shelby's bid for Miss TGRA and Virgil's pursuii of Mr TGRA In addition, ihe Colt 45's proudly thank and praise the Royal Sovereign Imperial Court of the Single Slar's continuous support and most graciously thank F.mpress Crystal Rae Lee Love and Emperor Jerry Moran for ihe honoi ot choosing ihe Coll 45's as their benefactors and for making the Colt 4 5's "Tlie Imperial P r o4 e c t o r s of Empress XI." Without iheir perseverance to insure that we had ihe information we needed to continue serving the community and assisting our clients, ihe long term losses for those we serve would have been devastating. The outstanding efforts of the Board and the Membership of TGRA io put clients' needs first is commendable and the Colt 45's tip their hals in thanks for iheir active interest in, and support of Ihe community we all serve. Most importantly, the Coll 45's lhank the community, for without Ihe support of the community there are no funds io activate and distribute forms of welcome relief to those less fortunate Ihan ourselves. 'First Step' For LGRL From SARAH DF;PALMA Chair, It's Time. Texas We wish io acknowledge ihe decision made by the Lesbian/Gay Rights Lobby board of directors to form a committee to siudy ways of seeking transgender inclusion in future hale crimes legislation While this does not come close to meeting our demand to he included in the bill currenlly before the legislature, their decision is a good firsi siep in the right direction and we acknowledge it as such. We would also like lo thank Dianne Hardy-Garcia for keeping her word and pre seining ihe resolution to the board for their consideration. Ii was very gracious of her to invile our chair, Sarah DePalma. to speak at the rally and we offer our ihanks. Il must be pointed oul, however, (hat it look the staging of a highly successful protest al (he March on Austin to obtain even Ihis small concession, and this is only a commitment to talk aboul talking about transgender inclusion So although we appreciate this first siep, It's Time, Texas! will continue to closely monitor ihe LGRL for signs lhat their words will be translated into action. We continue to strongly urge ihai an openly transgendered person be placed on their hoard of directors and look forward to working wilh the LGRL on mailers of transgender inclusion in the future.
