Transcript FEBRUARY 7, 1986 / MONTROSE VOICE Photos by Jerry Mulholland Montrose Soap The Galleon 'Drags' It in For KS/AIDS, FOCUSS By the staff of the Montrose Voice The All City Bartenders Drag Show, held last Sunday at The Galleon netted $700 for the KS/AIDS Foundation and FOCUSS, Bartenders representing nearly every community bar entertained a packed house with acts which ranged from high camp to serious theatrics. The management of the Galleon thanks all the performers for doing a great job. — a — Floyd, formerly of the Brazos River Bottom, is now behind the bar at Chutes. Steak Nights at Chutes are Thursdays, beginning at 7pm, with 25C draft. _□___ Question of the week: Why is Michael at The Exile trying to lure people into his back room? Watch out Bill! — a — Maria's Stag Party will be held at Chutes on February 13. Films and special drink prices are included for a $1 donation to the McAdory House. — a — The Sundance Cattle Co. Bake Sale and Barbeque will be held this Sunday, Feb, 9, at the Barn. — d — Thanks to the TABC, the Krewe of Hydra's bus trip to Galeveston will be BYOB with complimentary set-ups. — a — Ron of the Ripcord will be serving his nearly famous burgers at the Barn on March 3. — o — Talk about putting a smile on your face, the Driscoll Street Cafe is serving margari- tas for $5 a pound during Happy Hour. — D — Condolences go out to 7om in his recent loss of Sugar Sugar, general manager of Tom's Pretty Fish. —□ — Let Us Entertain You Weekend is next weekend (Feb. 14, 15, and 16), And you thought it was still weeks away? — □— The Voice is giving away FREE PERSONALS in next week's paper in honor of Valentine's Day, So send yoursweetiealove note. O'Briens is opening this Sunday with the Illusions of Kandi Love, Koffie, Tina Alexander and Champagne. — n — JR's stars this Sunday will be Sadghi, Kandi Delight and Charlie Summers. Two shows: 10pm and midnight. — □ — Guess who's patio is finally opening? Rome wasn't built in a day, right? And the Mining Company's patio certainly wasn't either. In fact, it seems they took their own sweet time. But the wait is worth it. This Thursday (the 13th), you're invited to the giant Patio Party with complimentary well drinks and draft beer 8-lOpm. The Montrose A-crowd (that includes you) will be there. — □ — The incomparable Sylvester will be live in concert at Heaven THIS Sunday (the 9th). That's the day Heaven normally has its Sunday beer bust, right? Well, they still will. Free beer all night. And no increase in cover. It's like getting Sylvester for free. Speaking of Sylvester, our national gay treasure will be performing material from a new album. Don't miss him.
