New Hoops League!
The Houston Force, a local basketball
team, recently traveled to Chicago for the
Hoops Classic. Having lo play six games in
two days, the Force only lost one game and
defeated the top seed team, San Francisco
Fan Asylum, awarding them 2nd Place in
the tourney. The next tournament is scheduled in Boston in September. If you are
interested in joining the Houston league,

Dog Days of Summer
The Montrose Monday Night Men's
League reports Final Standings for the
Rolloffs are in Division A We Go There,
Beat the Meat Again, 3 Dukes & A Duchess
and Four Tops. Spank My Feet, Five Easy
Pieces, Not So Easy Pickups and Intelligent
Wifeforms lead Division B. Don Burken
bowled High Scratch Game of 251 and
Series of 660. Ruben Martinez bowled High
Handicapped Series. Bowling is at Palace
Lanes at 9pm on Monday. Summer League

Softball Anyone?
The Montrose Softball League (MSL)
invites everyone out to the Lone Star Classic
Softball Tournament that will be taking
place this Saturday and Sunday, March 29
and 30. All games will be played at
Memorial Park Fields #2, 3, 4 and 5.
Games begin both days at 9am and will last
all day. Player registration will take place
Friday, March 28, at the Montrose Mining
Company from 6-11pm and a tournament
kick-off party will take place Friday night at
Rich's beginning at 9pm until closing. A
team awards and appreciation night will
take place Saturday night at Heaven from 7-
9pm.
Tournament entrants include teams from
MSL as well as participants from Dallas,
Washington, D.C, Atlanta and Tampa.
MSL would Hike to extend a warm welcome
to their out of town guests and encourage
everyone in the community to come out to
the games and cheer on your favorite team.
Concessions will be available at each field.

begins on April 3. Games will be played on
Thursday evenings with a tournament at the
end of the league. Also, they offer Adult
Co-Ed Volleyball each and every Friday

Free Fishing Trip
The Rainbow Fishing Club plans their
next outing on the 70-foot deluxe deep sea
fishing boat on Sunday, June 22. The cost
for the 12-hour trip is $60 with a $30 deposit
due now. The club will also be going out in
Tim, Jeff & Alex of the Fishing Club.

Everybody Skate!
The Lambda Roller Skating Club host
their Weekly Skate Night on Wednesday,
April 2 at Starlite Skating Rink, 8075 Cook
Road (corner of Cook and Beechnut). Skate
time is 8-10pm with a nominal admission
fee of $5 plus $1.50 if you need skates. You
may bring your own skates or blades.

The Houston Outdoor Group invites all
to join them for a weekend of camping (un
at Enchanted Rock State Park. Occurring
April 25-27 this year, plan on going Friday
afternoon or evening for a great weekend.
The Park is north of Fredericksburg about 1-
1/2 hours west of Austin in the Hill
Country. The park has huge granite out-
croppings with great hiking, streams, caves,
wildflowers and spectacular sunsets. Space
