Transcript | University of Houston 3 801 CULLEN BOULEVARD HOUSTON 4. TEXAS OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT January 22, 1959 Mr. Eugene I. Harvey Box 22 Grambling, Louisiana Dear Mr. Harvey: Your application for admission to the University of Houston for the summer session, 1959* has been referred to me for reply. I must report to you that to date no Negro has been admitted to the University of Houston. The subject of desegregation is a matter of careful study on the part of the University and its Board of Governors at this time. When a decision is reached, you will most likely learn of it through the press♦ I doubt seriously that that will occur in time for you to attend the summer session. Sincerely, Clanton W. Williams President ekr |
