Date | October 25, 1933 |
Description | Letter written by Joseph S. Cullinan to the Governor of Texas Miriam Amanda Ferguson to inform her of the plans to build a City-County Hospital in Houston. Knowing that Governor Miriam Amanda Ferguson has vetoed a legislation allowing for the construction of public utilities (including hospitals), Mr. Joseph S. Cullinan has enclosed a copy of a letter he sent to Mayor Oscar F. Holcombe and Judge W. H. Ward to show the Governor that an attempt will be made by city officials to secure the funding for the construction of the hospital despite her veto. Mr. Joseph S. Cullinan points out that such construction is unnecessary and that it would be to the detriment of existing medical institutions. |
