Transcript First Hot Shoppes Jr. located at Branch Avenue and Iverson Street in suburban Washington, D.C. f if HOT SHOPPES JR. Our company's newest division—The Hot Shoppes Jr.—began operations in January, 1965 with the opening of a prototype unit in suburban Washington's Marlow Heights area. Our entry into the limited menu, fast-service, 15-cent hamburger field was initiated after extensive study of this rapidly-growing segment of the restaurant industry. We based our operational blueprint on the same fundamental policies which have guided our company's growth through the years—quality food, fast and courteous service, cleanliness and sound management. The effectiveness of the application of these policies in the limited menu drive-in field has been evidenced by the successful operation of our first Hot Shoppes Jr. Recognizing that location is a major success factor in this field, we have developed a unique, Peter H. Plamondon, director Hot Shoppes Jr. Division discussing new eguipment. site study formula and have established a special section of our real estate department to implement a sound, long-range expansion of the Hot Shoppes Jr. Division. We also instituted a new personnel training program designed to develop an available reserve of qualified people to staff new units as.our expansion program accelerates. At the same time, we are working on refinements of architectural and kitchen design; and our company's test kitchen is researching new recipes to supplement our present menu which features an item of universal appeal, Hot Shoppes' Pappy Parker's Fried Chicken. With public acceptance of our Hot Shoppes Jr. now established, we are proceeding judiciously on an expansion program in this division, with plans to develop key locations in Washington and other metropolitan areas. Hot Shoppes Jr. favorites include: rich delicious milk shakes, Pappy Parker Smoky Mountain Fried Chicken, 15( hamburgers and trench fried potatoes. WS*
