Transcript individual travel for business and pleasure. Commercial account executives call on industry to stimulate trade for all Hilton Hotels rather than any specific location. Individuals traveling on business are now able to have a specific rate guaranteed at Hilton accommodations. The banquet market is being cultivated by a banquet sales specialist who sets up solicitation programs for the individual hotels. The hotels' banquet department staffs are trained to recognize opportunities for further business development. The travel and tour market is reached by travel industry specialists who are responsible for the solicitation of all travel agents, tour operators and transportation companies in their area and for the servicing of tour and travel bookings in these hotels. All-Hilton tours, tailored to specific markets, are now being studied. The transient market consists of all potential customers not reached in other ways. Programs are pinpointed to attract the professional man, government employees, military personnel and other recognizable elements in the transient market. A department of women's services has been set up to stimulate greater interest among women who are traveling, whether in connection with a convention or independently for business or pleasure. A family plan is being offered whereby children have free lodging as long as they occupy a room with their parents. All of Hilton Hotels' advertising on the domestic and international levels is being handled by the newly retained international advertising agency. Reservations booked through the Hilton Reservation Service increased from 670,000 in 1962 to approximately 800,000 during 1963.
