Transcript | PUBLICITY The wire services together with the daily newspapers and national magazines have told the Hilton story many times around the world. Receipt of voluminous amounts of correspondence from distant, as well as local, points indicates the penetration this publicity has achieved. During the past year Life Magazine and Time Magazine both published lengthy articles giving detailed information on the operations of Hilton Hotels . . . and both covered the spectacular opening of our newest acquisition, The Caribe Hilton. The New York Times Sunday Magazine Section, New York News Sunday Magazine Section, and the St. Louis Post-Dispatch all carried publicity on our hotels. In addition to national publicity given the Hilton Hotels, many local newspapers have devoted considerable space to tell the story of the individual hotels. These included photographs and articles of social items, nationally prominent figures, entertainment in our restaurants, business news and stories of general interest. In the trade magazines, our hotels were regularly represented by articles relating to various phases of our operation, personnel activities, training programs and other items of interest to the industry. At press time a book entitled "The Man Who Bought The Waldorf", is being released. It is a distinct pleasure to note that book reviews in metropolitan newspapers all over the country, indicate a large general interest. |
