Scheduled to open January 1959, this Sheraton Hotel is a vital part of the spectacular Southland Center development in the heart of Dallas. The 600-room, $12,000,000 hotel will rise 28 stories above a complete shopping center and 2,000-car garage. «33P^- THE PORTLAND-SHERATON—Lloyd Center, a new development on the populous east side of Portland, Oregon, will be the location of the Portland-Sheraton, a combination hotel and motel. The 300-room, eight story building has been designed so that 300 more rooms can be added without changing the structure. The Portland-Sheraton will have extensive convention facilities, a year-round enclosed swimming pool, and air conditioning. It's due to open January 1959. THE SHERATON-B1NGHAMTON— This luxurious hotel will open in February 1959. Located directly across the Chenango River from the business center of Binghamton, New York, the Sheraton-Binghamton will have 200 rooms, public dining rooms, cocktail lounge and large meeting rooms. Due to the new motor guest registration facilities at this beautiful glass, brick and aluminum highway inn, guests will be able to register without leaving their automobiles. One wing will house the studios of WFMB, largest TV station in southern New York state. BEACON OF HOSPITALITY" A golden globe on a bright rose-red pylon is the new "Beacon of Hospitality" symbol chosen to identify Sheraton Hotels everywhere. The giant marker is now atop the new Philadelphia Sheraton, and the Sheraton-Plaza in Boston, and will soon be seen on all Sheraton Hotels as well as on Sheraton advertising. In time, the "Beacon of Hospitality" will become a symbol throughout the U. S. and Canada of "The Proudest Name in Hotels", and beckon travelers to it. |
