Transcript Leonard W. Lefeve THRUWAYS AND TURNPIKES Sunshine Parkway, West Palm Beach, Florida Food service on major state thruways and turnpikes—including the New York Thruway, Florida's Sunshine Parkway and the Delaware Turnpike (John F. Kennedy Memorial Highway) is another increasingly important facet of Hot Shoppes' highly diversified operations. These Hot Shoppes restaurants, cafeterias and snack bars on major high-speed, limited access highways are open on a round-the-clock basis every day of the year to provide the traveling public with moderately priced food served in a refreshing, wholesome atmosphere. Each of these public facilities is required to meet rigid menu, quality and service specifications established by each of the states—another example of how Hot Shoppes through experience and know-how is geared to successfully operate even the most complicated and demanding food services. The company also cooperates with each state in keeping pace with the demands of ever-increasing traffic volume on these modern, high-speed roadways. On the New York Thruway and the Sunshine Parkway, for example, all-time record traffic volume has required Hot Shoppes facilities to operate at maximum capacity. In each state—working closely with the New York Thruway and Florida Turnpike Commissions— our company has expanded existing restaurants or constructed new facilities to meet current and projected service demands. On all toll roads serviced by Hot Shoppes, our operations are carefully researched each year to re-evaluate our policies as to food and service. It is our belief that only through such systematic reassessment can we make certain that we are keeping up with the needs of the motoring public. John F. Kennedy Memorial Highway, Delaware
