Transcript A corporation's annual report should reflect the philosophy of that corporation. We at Hilton Hotels have established as our goals the improvement of our service and the promotion of peace by the development of better understanding between peoples around the world as a result of travel. To our shareholders: Hilton Hotels Corporation during 1959 achieved substantial gains in its existing operations and made major progress in the development of new sources of future business. Both revenues and earnings from operations were the highest in the Company's history. In view of these and other favorable factors, the Board of Directors on February 3, 1960, raised the annual cash dividend rate on the common stock to $1.50 per share from the $1.20 a share previously paid. The Hilton Inn program moved ahead rapidly in 1959. The San Francisco and New Orleans Inns were opened in mid-1959 and the El Paso Inn in early January, 1960. The Atlanta Hilton Inn is scheduled to open in June and work is starting on the Hilton Inns in Seattle, Washington; Aurora, Illinois and Tarrytown, New York. The first five mentioned are airport Inns, while the latter two are located at key highway points. Negotiations in seven other cities are close to consummation, and we expect within five years to have a complex of some 20 Inns across the country. Many persons will always prefer to stay in the center of a city. However, we recognize that the expansion of outlying industrial and residential sections makes it desirable to provide fine accommodations for those preferring to stay in outlying sections. The San Francisco Inn is a good example. Business executives can
