Transcript NOVEMBER 1970 PAGE 1 1 THE STAR CHAMBER a^ h P** Browne Breckenridge Houston's Gay Society Scene GOSSIP in really knowledgtfble circles indicate some drastic changes will soon have to be made in the better guest lists following expected arrests in connection with the recent dreadful burnings of gay clubs. The persons against whom arson charges will be filed are just too, too surprising, luv, and they did seem so terribly nice. So embarrassing, really. HALLOWE'EN is here again, and some of local society's more well known witches & warlocks & such are preparing for the great occasion. It's the Druid New Year as we all know & there is one group of simply darling metaphysicians (now we all know what THAT means!) who are planning to assemble at a near-by estate on the night of the 31.-r and do whatever they do to celebrate the Sabbath. They all take this very, very seriously, luv, and we do so hope they'll think kindly of us all during their ceremonies, don't we? I mean, really, walking about with webbed feet is so awkward even in shorties. THERE is another group of practioners of the black arts, not nearly so important socially or metaphysically as the above-mentioned Beautiful People who will probably also be gathering to mutter & sputter and who have the most amusing custom of wearing metal rings, luv, and not around their many-coloured wrists'. One would think these rings would prove terribly awkward during certain terribly intimate moments but they seem to think they at* just too dandy for keeping away beasties that go bump in the night. A LOCAL banker & oil man also wears a ring - - copper, luv - - round his wrist this time, and has just lost too many pounds to mention politely. Maybe his copper bracelet did it. At any rate the charming sobriquet "Piggy" by which the dear boy is known by so many of his friends & acquaintances will just have to go now. Maybe we could use "Piglet" or something. Anyway, everyone is just thrilled about it, really. HOUSTON'S socialite launderess, of the well-known washerwoman clan, lately returned from a sudden trip to Los Angeles & Laguna Beach and has spread much confusion among her friends about the whole thing. Such a dear, actually, and it was so sad to hear her latest romantic involvement came unravelled over cocktails after she returned. Seems she attended a dinner party given by one of the Matrons of Mason Street (Lower Mason) and a contretemp arose which just proved it wasn't her night. Love is so terribly fleeting, luv, especially in the A Group (or is it the AA Group?). As we all know, this dear person's family has been handling the very best dirty linen in Houston for simply years so we all know she'll, know just how to handle her own D.L. when it comes time to wash it out in public. It must be all so tiresome for the old dear, don't you know.. cc Custom IPliotogreiiDlxy h PERSONALITY PORTRAITS ^ PARTIES - SOCIAL EVENTS ^ CONFIDENTIAL PHOTO FINISHING it THEATRICAL PHOTOGRAPHY ^ PERFORMERS PORTFOLIOS PRICES CONSISTENT WITH QUALITY Call KEN OVARD after 6 P,.M.
