I became very concerned about the church's absentees and decided to cheek up on some
of them. This is what I found out!
The O. Kaaional Family said they would probably be back sometime next month. Once a
month is average for diem. ~*~?,~
Mr. and Mrs. Faint Hearted have given up again. They can not indite that it take* mote
enthusiasm and interest on everyone's part to keep going m the winter time.
The Pie* R. Seekers were off on a trip and got home just a little too late to come.
Mrs. N. E. Seine did not have a clean thing to wear. I saw her on the way to work the
The Spineless Sisters had someone to drop in at church lime. They just could not tell thorn
that they were on their way to church.
The Weather Watchers said the thunder was too loud.
Miss Hattie Go Home just had to sec her folks, I understand that she had not been home
since last weekend!
Mr. and Mrs. T. V. Addict and children could not miss a special Sunday television program.
Mr. Luke Warm seems to be unconcerned about his Christian responsibililv to be a good
steward of his talents.
Mr. Spaz Motic just did not feel like coming.
About the only time some people decide
>o ly ftfitliful to the Lord's work is when they
get ready to die and then it is too late!

When we think of God's love for us and Jesus' command to us to
love God and our neighbor, it is disquieting to think of the concept of evil and sin. J
Yet, unfortunate as it is, evil and sin are both realities,
3oth words passed the lips of our Divine Savior while He was on
Earth as our rjrtachei%-_/ :Were it not so, the awful1 sacrifice of
Jesus, made in love for us, offering us the hope of^AlTtftt.t-in^.
would not have-l!ieen necessary.
What then is sin? Since Jesus' twofold command to us is to
love, it is logical to assume that sin must involve the negation
"of love - a denial or partial denial of His command to love. God
did not leave 3A% in the dark about what actions He considers a
denial of love. Before the New Covenant of Love, God handed the
Law of Moses on Mount Sinai in the form of the Ten Commandments..
When Jesus came*to us, He explained these Commandments, in terms
of love while giving us concrete examples of what He i&e&nt. Many
times He used parables to help us understand.
But Jesus is a Loving Taskmaster, His principles, if fully
implemented, make profound psychological and sociological sense.
There are times when living up to them require severe self-discipline, but it*s worth it, if not for ourselves, for whose benefit
Jesus taught these things, then for Him who laid His life in love
for us. His teachings are in the Gospels. Read, Study, Think,
Understand and then ACT - LOVE!
