Box 822, Austin 78767 efy Clka FREUD GAY? (IGNA) A recent book called Why Freud Fainted by Samuel Rosenberg suggests that Sigmund Freud, the famous founder of psychoanalysis, may have had homosexual experiences. The evidence, however, is slim: Rosenberg bases his idea on the fact that Freud and a longtime colleague used to go to secluded spas reachable only by long and uncomfortable train rides. The two men usually spent several days together. The writing in the book is almost apologetic and somewhat roundabout, with the reader left to draw their own conclusions. ' Perhaps other researchers will investigate this theme in more detail.
