Title | Letter from Lt. Robert B. Fulton to Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Fulton, December 18, 1941 |
Creator (Local) |
|
Date | December 18, 1941 |
Description | This was the first letter written by Fulton to his parents during wartime, after the United States entered World War II by declaring war on Japan following Pearl Harbor. In this letter, Robert writes about how the start of the war was a surprise and a shock to most people, about the losses at Pearl Harbor, and the impact that full censorship has on the letters he writes. After the war started, Robert mailed a carbon copy of the letters he sent to increase their chances of delivery. This letter was one of the original copies he sent. |
