Description | Victor Chapot’s ‘Monuments antiques’ was written by a collection of authors including himself, Hector d’Espouy, and contributors from Accademia di Francia and Institut de France, and was published by Ch. Massin between approximately 1910 and 1912 in Paris, France. The title roughly translates to ‘Ancient monuments ,: statements and restorations by architectural residents of the Académie de France in Rome.’ The book contains a series of architectural prints accompanied by notes penned by the residents who provided them. Of special note are the restorations, which provide complete views of otherwise ruined monuments and structures. |
