First, the Cancer Survivors' Support Group for lesbians, and their partners meets at the Montrose Counseling Center biweekly. A licensed counselor facilitates. Call 529-0037 for more information. Secondly, a lesbian health fair, Lesbians: To Your Health '96 / Lesbianas:A Tu Salud '96, will be held on Saturday, January 20 at the Metropolitan Multiservice Center at 1475 West Gray from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. There will be workshops on a number of health related issues, vendors and food booths, as well as live music. Mammogram appointments available in person for those 35 and over at Inklings Bookshop, 1846 Richmond. Now that the survey is completed, LHI has a dozen more projects on the drawing boards, and is open to considering any project that benefits lesbian health in the Houston area. Volunteers to date have ranged from a lesbian surgeon to a chiropractor to a psychologist to activists, students, and lesbians who are in business. Our ages range from 20s to 60s, our ethnicities are varied. The sky is the limit to what we can accomplish with your energy.
