Transcript BANOW PROGRAM MEETING Thursday, June 7, 1979 The program featured a slide show/narrative entitled "Woman's Image-Woman's Costume," by Christina Haight. Afterwards, the following topics were discussed by members. The meeting was chaired by Marj Randalt Phyllis Tucker called for delegate to State NCW Council Meeting on June 23 in Bryan; announced Kay Gardner concert, proceeds to benefit the Womenfs Shelter. Rema Lou Brown —-HUD is heading a study on women and mortgage credit. Firm BL&K in Washington, DC, will be hiring a Houston coordinator in July who will receive one week's training in Washington, DC, and $100/day plus all expenses. Interested people should contact Brown for details. More jobs may also open up once the study is set up. Twiss Butler Urged letters to President Carter to retain the Rules of Appearance regulations in Title IX. Judy Blanchard Announced $471.31 proceeds from garage sale. Marj Randal— Introduced motion to use $100 of proceeds to remunerate treasury for $100 sent to Florida Political Action Committee for Pro-ERA candidates. After debate, the motion failed. Jean Bettencourt—Presented fund-raising Ideas (see ads this newsletter). Sandy Anderson Announced new telephone tree. Lynn McGregor Presented fact sheet on abortion bills before the legislature. Adele Wallace Briefed us on the services provided by the Family Service Center located in the Alpha Building. Rema Lou Brown Added that people referred by Women's Resource Services, UHCLC, to FSC were very pleased. Kvie Whitsett——Nominated self for Coordinator and received unanimous approval; motion to thank church for use of facilities for garage sale and to give church ice trays and bucket; Judy Blanchard will implement. Decided next business meeting will be Thursday, June 21, but recognized need to poll members for best time.
