Transcript plaque, Kuhlmann and Brown will determine the wording to be engraved, and Saletan will compose a letter of appreciation to be circulated for signa- tory support to as many different organizations as can be contacted. Brown and Kuhlmann will contact the individual to make the personal public presentation to Jan Wyatt. It was moved by Bonnie Dombroski and seconded by Nike Carstarphen that the chapter set advertising rates in the B.A. NOW NEWS as follows: Full Page $50.00 Half Page 25.00 Quarter Page 12.50 3 line member personal ad $ 5.00. The motion carried. Evie Whitsett, recalling previous chapter practice, requested that the individual who schedules and chairs the program each month, also chair the business portion of the program meeting if she/he so desires. There was no objection. Submitted, Rema Lou Brown, Secretary MINUTES, BAY AREA NOW PROGRAM MEETING APRIL 1, 1982 The program meeting of Bay Area NOW was called to order at 7:42 PM, April 1, 1982, at the Uniting Church of CLC by President Pat Kuhlmann. Jeanne Saletan mad^ an urgent announcement prior to the program; she notified members of the need to contact Senators Bentsen and Tower immediately to express our individual opposition to SJR 110, the Human Life Amendment, which will be voted on the Senate floor following the Senate's Easter recess. She also cited the need for letters to be sent now to protest the proposed regulations that would be used to implement the Family Planning Act. As coordinator for the April program, Pat Kuhlmann introduced Mary Austin of Dallas, Tx. who presented her slide program, "Take a Closer Look: Advertising and Women." In the business meeting which followed, the members were apprised of Judge Lesher's adverse decision in the chapter's legal action against Baybrook Mall. Pres. Kuhlmann requested the chapter's permission to appeal the decision. The consensus of the chapter members was to request a meeting between the members and the attorney as soon as possible. Such a meeting would be in lieu of the regular business meeting in April. Rema Lou Brown appealed to the members to attend the Friday, 1:30 pm, session oi Women's Week VI, which was a panel of UH/CLC personnel the potential for child care at the university. Mary Skinner was praised, in absentia, for her idea to honor Dr. Van Wyatt, Dean of Student Services, as the head of the department in which the Women's Resource Services is housed at the university. Members who participated in the public presentation of the award reported to the other members on the success of the project. Jeanne Saletan was praised for her successful coordination of the support for the presentation by other organizations: CLC Chamber of Commerce, League of Women Voters, American Business Women's Association;, American Association of University Women, etc. Submitted, Rema Lou Brown WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?
