Transcript | VII. STATE OFFICERS: A. Election. 1. The State Officers shall be elected at the State Convention. Following self-nomination, they shall be elected by majority vote. In the event that no person is elected by a Majority cf votes cast on the first ballot for any office, a runoff shall be held between those tW3 candidates having the largest number of votes. 2. The State Coordinator, State Communications Coordinator, and State Treasurer shall be elected by a majority of duly registered members preso it and voting at the State Convention. Each State Membership Coordinator shall be elected by a majority of those duly registered members from her/his area present and voting at the State Convention. 3. The State Officers shall take office at the adjournment of the State Convention at which they are elected. B. Duties 1. The State Coordinator shall preside at the State Convention, shall call and preside at meetings of the State Council, and shall be the official spokesperson for Texas N.O.U. in statements consistent with the policy of Texas N.O.W. and N.O.W. , Inc. The State Coordinator shall serve as .liaison between Texas N.O.W. and regional and national officers of ll.O.U., Inc.; shall assist the Regional Director in the formation of new chapters; shall maintain records of the status of chapters, convening chapters, and members in Texas; and shall coordinate, at a state level, activities to further national and state legislative goals. . |
