Because the concerns of working women are still not addressed by the major political parties in their 1980 platforms, four national women's labor organizations proclaimed the Working Women's Platform in Lafayette Park. The Coalition of Labor Union Women, Wider Opportunities for Women, Displaced Homemakers Network, Inc. and National Commission on Work- inkg Women rallied 200 supporters in 99* heat this Labor Day to witness women carpenters hammer together the planks.
