Transcript FROM YOUR VICE-PRESIDENT: I wish to thank everyone for their support and goodwill. I am excited about this year for our chapter and am eager to get the show on the road, so to speak. Two of my major responsibilities this year will be the Program Meetings and the Task Forces. Any input, ideas, suggestions, etc., are welcome from any member pertaining to these items. In each monthly newletter I will endeavor to report about these two important features of our organization. I feel it is vital for our members to be kept aware of what each task force is doing. It is especially important that our program meetings are informative, educational and of interest to our general membership. Therefore, I ask that anyone who has a particular topic or issue on which they would like a program done, contact me to discuss their ideas. 1. TASK FORCE: As many of you know our task forces are the the "mainstream" of our organization. They are a vital part of Bay Area NOW. Each task force chair or co-chair provides updated information, education programs, and important changes on each of their particular issues. I know that each of you has your favorite issues that are of importance to you. Some of Task Forces in the past covered issues like Sexual Assualt, Family Violence, Sexual Harassment, Equal Pay, Pro-choice, Gay and Lesbian Rights, etc. It is important that we continue to educate, update and enlighten ourselves, and society about these issues. This can be done most effectively thru the continuing work of our Task Forces. Those interested in these issues or who have other issues they feel need attention may contact me at 928-5088 evenings after 6:00 or most weekends. 2. PROGRAM MEETINGS: One of the goals of the Executive Committee is to provide, in advance, a calendar of events for each member of our chapter. In particular, we would like for each member to know what topics will be presented each month at our program meetings. We would like to have the schedule of program meetings ready for our February Newsletter. If anyone has a subject or a speaker with a subject that they feel would be of -5-
