Transcript August 1974 BROADSIDE Page 9 BABBLE, BABBLE, BABBLE Do you feel that parliamentary procedure is an unknown tongue? Would you feel more comfortable at meetings (NOW and other organizations) if you knew what Robert's Rules of Order are? Betty Barnes will lead a session on parliamentary procedure in the Women's Center on Monday, Aug. 19, from 8:00 to 9:30 PM. If you can't come but are still Interested, or if you want more information, call Betty at 487-2489. One characteristic of a well-run meeting is that it starts on time. This one will begin at the time set. SOFTBALL Despite a brilliant, colorful, if somewhat drunken, performance by the cheerleaders, the NOW softball team suffered its first loss of the season recently, being slightly outplayed by the Armadillos. Down, but not out, the team has been working hard and will make its next public appearance in the Houston Chronicle Invitational Slow Pitch Tournament which will start the week of August 12. The schedule for the games should appear in the Chronicle on Sunday, August 11, and we'll leave information on the location of the field at the Women's Center as soon as we find out where we're playing. We'd like to have a bat girl, so anyone with a daughter in the 9-11 age bracket who'd be interested, please call Jan Cunningham at 522-7164. AUGUST PROGRAM MEETING Miriam Rothaus will be our guest at the August program meeting. Ms. Rothaus is a counselor in the field of human relations and is probably one of the few counselors in this area who is truly a feminist. Rather than simply make a speech to us, Ms. Rothaus has suggested it might be more beneficial if members submit specific questions or topics to her in advance so that her remarks will be truly responsive to the interests of our membership. Please drop her a card at CBM Building #217, 3703 Yoakum, Houston 77006, with your suggestions. The meeting will be held on Wednesday, August 7» at 8:00 PM at the University of Houston Student Center.
